The Nurturing Childhoods Accreditation
Take your Setting Based Professional Development
to a Whole New Level
Tired of Ticking Boxes and Meeting Judgements?
With no pre-determined judgements to meet, the Nurturing Childhoods Accreditation follows a setting-based action-research model.
Focused on supporting your teams knowledge and understanding, it is designed to be driven by the specific needs of your setting.
Rooted in pedagogical content and the care and development of children in the early years, each module is tailored to offer the support you need to see practice consistently build and develop over time.
It’s Time To Celebrate ALL That You Do
To effectively support the knowledge and understanding of your team, your professional development needs to be mindful of where your strengths lie and the areas you need to work on.
It needs to support your reflections as you become more informed and support you in actively taking those reflections forward.
And if it is to have any lasting effect or impact on practice, it needs to be rooted in your environment, your history and ethos and focused on the experiences of your children.
To do this, the Nurturing Childhoods Accreditation follows a setting-based action-research model. This starts with identifying your strengths, taking your knowledge and understanding further then realising improvements that are meaningful to you.

INTRODUCING...
The only Accreditation centred on Nurturing Children
Rather than Meeting Judgements
RECONNECT WITH WHAT MATTERS MOST
Develop the knowledge and understanding of you team. Move away from simply instructing what they should be doing, to supporting them as they really understand why they should be doing it.
Tune in to how children are growing and developing and what this means in terms of the experiences you are offering. We'll look at:
- What is at the root of your practice, your ethos and values
- Knowing what it means to nurture a sense of security and emotional awareness
- Understand how to nurture children's happiness and well-being
- And what learning means in the early years, drawing focus back where it belongs
It’s time to nurture your children in ways that will impact them for the rest of their lives.
MODULE #1
Understanding children from the inside out
Learn how the brain connects during the early years, the importance of every experience and how you are effecting growing, developing children.
MODULE #2
Reflective practice and making changes
Learn to consider new ideas by understanding their impact, reflecting on your own practice and evaluating advice before making the changes you need.
MODULE #3
Playing with children
Learn the deep-rooted value of play and its long-term impact on children. How styles of play develop children’s minds and bodies and the complex issues children use play to understand.
MODULE #4
The importance of early communication
Learn why children's early attempts at communication need valuing and just how early this begins. Reflect on how you support all communication and the ongoing impact this has.
MODULE #5
Time to get physical
Learn the impact of sedentary lifestyles on our children’s developing minds and bodies. And how this is impacting every aspect of their development, self-esteem and well-being.
MODULE #6
Understanding children’s emotions
Learn to develop children’s emotional intelligence, understand the processes going on when children experience their emotions and what happens when these are not effectively managed.
UNIQUE IN A NUMBER OF KEY WAYS
Designed around an action-research model with targeted development consistently building and developing over time. Chosen by you, the impact of this development will directly reflect on the experiences and outcomes of your children.
All your materials and talks available online including interactive, pre-recorded training sessions and documentation to structure effective progress. Schedule CPD when it suites you, as a staff team, in the place you want change to happen and revisited for extra clarification.
Underpinned by Department For Educations Teachers’ Professional Development Standards as a benchmark for all its content. We are less aware of these standards in the early years – but no less deserving of them.
With accompanying talks and materials for your parents meaning the practices you are implementing can be understood and embraced by your parents too. Working together with children at the centre – rather than any external demands.
We can’t wait to connect and grow with you!
